in the midst of the hustle and bustle of Senya city, Rikku walked around, exploring his new home with a map of the attractions. soon he came upon a huge building and looked at where he was on his map. "Shah Hakemi..." he said softly as he read aloud. the hall of songs....the most famous stadium in all of Maihito. he smiled brightly and walked inside.
as he made it through the doors and past the concession, he gaped a the sight he saw. an enormous stadium with thousands of seats and a huge stage for performers to play upon, led to by long walkways in every direction.
slowly a smile came to his pretty red lips and he began walking towards the stage. today he had worn his usual clothes, a white button up shirt that was slightly big on him and dark jeans. his hair was tied back with his mother's white ribbon and he had only realized he'd forgotten to wear the make up that hid his red lips, pallor skin, and long black eyelashes when he had already left the school. he had worried about leaving himself looking so feminine, but it wasn't like anyone could ever tell he was a boy without being told and besides that, his long red bangs hid most of his face anyway.
he climbed up onto the stage and looked at the instruments there. there were drums, a guitar, a bass, a piano, and a microphone for a singer. he smiled and took a seat at the piano. no one seemed to be around, so it wouldn't hurt him to play for a little while. he took a small notebook from his backpack and opened it, looking at the songs within. he looked at some of the ones he had written himself, but he didn't feel like working on them right now....no, he wanted to work on only one of them. the one he had tried many times to work on, yet never been able to finish. one his mother had only just started writing at the end of her pregnancy with him, one she died before she could finish. it didn't even have a name, just two lines and part of a melody. he looked at it thoughtfully and began playing the song. he began singing what he had written into it, but it didn't seem right to him. when he wasn't pleased with it, he started over...and over, and over until 17 minutes had passed. he groaned and lay his head to rest upon the piano keys. he just couldn't seem to get this song right. 'why? why can't I finish it?' he wondered to himself in his mind. the truth of the matter was that this was supposed to be a love song, yet Rikku had no comprehention of romantic love. he had only been given and recieved platonic love so he could not truly write this song at this point in time.
softly he sighed as he slowly lifted his head from the piano. he needed to get his mind off his failure. he played with the piano keys a little bit, then began to remember a song his sister had taught him not that long ago. he vocalized along with the music, his amazing voice echoing throughout the stadium and capturing the attention of anyone who heard it. thus was the siren's call, an endless seeming voice one wished to hear for all eternity. he may be mostly male, but his singing voice was beautiful and feminine, womanly would be a good word for it. it betrayed both his sex and his age and made one expect to find a beautiful woman in her twenties singing rather than an androgynous 13 year old. soon his lips parted and he let the song forth.
"alone - and there's no tomorrow,
I should have known,
all the pain and sorrow.
I could only see your mind,
desperate measures for desperate times.
I can't stand the pain,
assume your love,
I still love you.
the fact still remains,
time will tell,
I still love you.
with peace - at the same time crying,
there's grace and solitude,
but there's no use in dying.
things between us - you can't hide,
a stranger's hand weighs upon your mind.
I can't stand the pain,
assume your love,
I still love you.
the fact still remains,
time will tell,
I still love you.
you can't see him,
but he's there - inside.
there's two voices,
you will decide - in time.
in time.
I can't stand the pain,
assume your love,
I still love you.
the fact still remains,
time will tell,
I still love you.
I can't stand the pain,
assume your love,
I still love you.
the fact still remains,
time will tell,
I still love you."
as a siren his voice reached everywhere in the enormous building, only becoming soft when heard outside of the stadium. as the song came towards it's end, he vocalized with it once more, not knowing if anyone had come to hear him sing as he'd closed his eyes while he sang. as always, he had lost himself in the music and it would take a touch or a voice to bring him back to reality.
(this is the song but i must say Rikku sounds more like Younha than he does like the singer of this song. www.youtube.com/watch?v=dE9yAR-gZRw)
